I started studying 3D.
Series concept:
In the earlier version of this series, a strong commitment to the medium of photography created a disconnect between the title “Polytope” and the works themselves.
In the newly developed “Polytope” series, I have returned to the idea of perceiving objects as flat representations of polyhedra. By utilizing 3DCG technology, I am able to achieve multifaceted expressions with depth and dimensionality, allowing me to create works that genuinely embody the title “Polytope.”
The works in this series are characterized by their “abstraction” and “anonymization.”
In this series, the distinction between surface-level reality and fiction is not of primary importance in the initial stage. Each work itself is an abstracted mass of fiction in the form of a polyhedron, and engaging with this fiction simultaneously serves as an encounter with reality.
In the next stage, the surface-level worlds of reality and fiction become footprints of my creative process. These footprints are intended to serve as materials for dialogue with reality, forming a system that invites such engagement.
This series is an attempt to reconsider the boundary between fiction and reality in the context of a modern world where virtual reality has become part of everyday life. It explores the very methods by which we perceive and interpret the world around us.
以前のこのシリーズでは、写真という媒体への強いこだわりが、「Polytope」というタイトルと作品との間に齟齬を生んでいました。
新たに展開している「Polytope」シリーズでは、物事を多面体として平板に捉えるという発想に立ち返り、制作を進めています。3DCG技術を活用することで、奥行きや立体感を備えた多面的な表現が可能となり、「Polytope(多面体)」というタイトルにふさわしい作品を素直に作り出せています。
このシリーズの作品は、「抽象化」や「匿名化」を特徴としています。
本シリーズにおいて、表面的な現実と虚構の区別は、初期段階では主題として重要ではありません。各作品そのものが、多面体として抽象化された虚構の塊であり、その虚構との対話は、同時に現実との出会いをもたらすものです。
次の段階では、表面的な現実や虚構の世界が、私の制作プロセスの足跡として現れてきます。これらの足跡が、現実との対話を生むための素材となることを意図しています。
このシリーズは、仮想現実が日常の一部となった現代の文脈において、虚構と現実の境界を再認識し、私たちが物事をどのように捉え、解釈するかという方法そのものを探る試みです。
Series concept:
The world we see with our eyes is different from one seen in the photo.
However, now, photos are a field of vision cut moments and shared.
As we see in our mind as chasing after various sights of matters, even if the sight is moving or still, we see things visually based on the photos.
The photo is the same as visioning imaginal matters in sight,
as they are shared in the internet, they are mysterious things without quantity as an object.
I will identify the mysterious photo being as the object by manual as developed photos.
In short, I will show the photos I shot by myself and I will draw them with a pencil by seeing them.
For me description by pencil is one of the most primitive expression.
In this series, I reproduce the mysterious photos in the thickness of only 0 comma millimeters,
and I will search the expression’s structural factor by taking time.
